About Brien

 

   I’m an anchor and reporter who believes journalism is essential to healthy communities. Facts, civility, and engaging stories can inform and empower. I'm an advocate for my viewers and the truth. Currently based at KTVX in Salt Lake City, Utah, I have also worked in Indiana and Arizona. I’ve reported stories from Australia, France, Nicaragua, and Papua New Guinea.

 

   In addition to covering local and regional news, I've worked as a correspondent on the syndicated magazine program “The List.” I covered breaking news in the Southwest while also reporting on business and technology news.

   I am drawn to explore a variety of subjects, but I have a particular interest in the environment, climate, and foreign affairs. I speak intermediate Spanish and Persian (Farsi).

 

   I am a proud member of the Society of Environmental Journalists. I previously served on the boards of the NATAS Rocky Mountain Southwest chapter and the Indiana Broadcasters Association, where I chaired a committee aimed at developing new talent in the industry.
